IF YOU LOSE WEIGHT, Your gums will benefit

What does the health of the gums with your weight? Much
Like everything that happens in your mouth, which is a great indicator of your overall health. In this article I'll tell you about a recent study that indicates that losing weight can help fight gum disease, known as periodontal disease.
Not many people associate oral health with overall health. However, well say the mouth is an indicator of how it is working everything in your body. A study that was published recently in the Journal of Periodontology, states that losing weight can help fight gum disease or periodontal disease. Another reason to look after your health holistically.
The study looked at 31 obese people who received treatment for their gum or periodontal treatments. Half of the group underwent gastric bypass surgery (or gastric bypass) which is designed to cause weight loss. The rest of the group did not undergo such surgery.
Interestingly, those who had undergone surgery to lose weight, showed remarkable improvement in the health of your gums, not only reduced inflammation but also reducing plaque and bleeding. According to the authors of the study, some specialists Case Western Reserve University, this may be due to "reductions in insulin resistance and inflammation associated with weight loss."
Remember that periodontal disease affects the gums, which are the support of your teeth. This condition is caused by bacteria in plaque, which if not removed by proper oral hygiene (daily brushing and flossing), harden causing tartar or calculus which produce irritation and inflammation of the gums.
As the disease progresses, bacteria penetrate and can even cause tooth loss. Therefore, it is essential that if you have periodontal disease, you get treated to prevent this from happening.
There are different types of periodontal disease:
Gingivitis is mild inflammation of the gums that bleed easily causes. It is the first stage of periodontal disease and at this stage people usually have no symptoms. If you receive specialized treatment and good oral hygiene practices, can be cured.
Light Periodontitis: If gingivitis is not cured, then the bone and tissue that hold teeth begin to destroy.
Advanced periodontitis: as the name implies, occurs when no preventive measures are taken and cause bone loss and significant tissue, causing tooth decay or making it necessary to draw (that you take them out).
The best way to prevent gum disease is taking care of your oral health with a good brushing after eating, flossing and regular visits to your dentist. Remember that the health of your mouth is linked to the health of your whole body.
