Japanese scientists Biology University of Kinki promise to revolutionize the prevention of caries by ultrathin film and provide bright teeth whiteness.
According to researchers, this is a flexible film based on hydroxyapatite, natural mineral that is part of the enamel, and this material was used to repair the damaged enamel.
The film has a thickness of 0.004 mm, which is achieved with lasers projected on compressed block hydroxyapatite action makes separated into particles. These blocks are mixed with heated and crystallized salt before the salt is dissolved in water. The resulting product is then recovered on a filter paper and dried.
When this film, very thin but strong, is applied to a tooth and becomes almost invisible. Due to its porous structure, the air during application and potential fluid leak through microscopic holes.
According to the Japanese, it will take less than five years to complete the study, which promises a definitive victory over caries.
