Cavities can be prevented with gum or yogurt

Chewing gum for? Cavities prevented? What actually seems to be unthinkable can become reality in a few years.

That's what scientists say the Centre of Public Health Research (CSISP) in Valencia, Spain, after is discovery of a microorganism that lives in the human body and has ability to fight the bacteria that causes dental cavities.

Andrés Moya, director CSISP, says that in five years it will be possible to incorporate this microorganism in chewing gum, toothpaste and yogurt, in addition to specific drugs. Thus, the consumption of these products can aid in the prevention of oral diseases leading ace.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), currently 60% -90% of school children worldwide suffer decay. That is not only evil debit brushing, but to other factors that were recently discovered. Alex Watch, a research center of Valencia, studied why some people, even though they had poor oral hygiene, tooth decay had never developed against others that developed it, and discovered that these bacteria are the advocates for the disease.

From this pool, we saw the possibility of incorporating this organism in those who do not through food and remedies. "It is still unknown whether there is a genetic predisposition for someone to tell with these microorganisms, but the goal is to put the bug in people who do not have the capacity to develop them," explains the director CSISP, Andrés Moya.

The discovery may also contribute to suit feeding a person has type of microorganisms, and thus better assimilate and neutralize digestion ailments like colic or intolerances of celiacs.
